Apostasy? How do we become apostates? For those who don't know, apostate = someone who forsakes his religion. Apostate = "believe, trust & obey God once, but after awhile don't believe, trust & obey anymore"
It's those little isty bitsy moments in your life that tell a lot actually.
It's a real thing you know. I mean, have we ever wondered, years down the road, how sure are we that we won't be one of them? I was just pondering over it. It's possible you know if we are content to continuously compromise what God wants for the sake of pleasing our ungodly wants. It's scary. Coz i know there are many instances that i've done that.
I guess we have to be vigilant in our self-examination which would come as a result of diligence walking with the Lord? Easier said than done. After all, apostasy is never a sudden result. It's more often than not "the product of a pattern of sinful compromises that harden and gradually steer a professing believer away from the truth." (GTY Ministries)
"...holding on to faith and a good conscience. Some have rejected these and so have shipwrecked their faith." 1 Tim 1:19 How crucial it is to be aware...so difficult but so rewarding. sigh...:)
